HENDERSON, MD - Bobby Gene Jackson passed away on Mon., Apr. 1, 2013 at Bayhealth Medical Center, Dover, Del. He was born on Jul. 8, 1934 in Rutherfordton, N.C. to the late Fletcher and Macy Bell Lovelace Jackson. He was a 1953 graduate of Oakley High School, Biltmore, N.C. He began his working career as an auto mechanic until entering the US Air Force in 1957. He retired from the Air Force in 1977 as an air craft maintenance supervisor in McGuire, N.J. After retirement he worked for the Blue Hen Mall and Diamond Motorsports for many years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sons, Donald Jackson and Kevin Jackson; his sisters, Francis Ledbeater and Ruth Jackson; and brothers, Claude, Clyde, Frank, and Raymond. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Catherine Marie Jackson; three daughters, Patricia Shelton and husband Doug of Sandtown, Del., Pamela Jackson of Henderson and Brenda Jackson of Massa, Ariz.; daughter-in-law, Shirley Jackson of Henderson; sister, Thelma Massey of N.C.; sister-in-law, Katherine Jackson, who along with her husband Raymond raised Bobby Gene; four grandchildren, Brandy Poore, Robin Strattman, Katie Laccillade and Brandon McCormack; and four great grandchildren, Kayla Poore, Leland Poore, Andrew Strattman and Madison Strattman. Funeral service for Bobby Gene will be Sat., Apr. 6, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Fleegle & Helfenbein Funeral Home, Greensboro. The family will receive relatives and friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in the Eastern Shore Veteran's Cemetery on Mon., Apr. 8, 2013.
