MILFORD - Charles E. Morgan passed away on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at his home. Charles was born to the late Charles Henry and Eleanor Morgan. Mr. Morgan served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. He retired after 20 years loyal and dedicated service. He served during the Vietnam War, and was part of the security police. At one time he was part of the Presidential Security Fleet, and met many U.S. Presidents. One of his most memorable times was being part of the Kennedy funeral procession, after John F. Kennedy was assassinated. After his retirement from the Air Force, he held many jobs to keep himself busy. He was in charge of a cleaning crew at the hospital, mowed grass at the Dover Air Force Base, and bagged groceries at the commissary, to name a few. In his spare time, he enjoyed listening to country music, fishing, and bowling. He was a newshound, and loved keeping up with current events by watching MSNBC. If he was not watching news, then he was watching his favorite football and baseball games as well as NASCAR. The Washington Redskins, Orioles, and Joe Gibbs from NASCAR were his favorites. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was the happiest when his family was around, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and he loved to go on excursions with them. He will be sadly missed. Mr. Morgan was a member of the Harrington Moose Lodge, VFW, American Legion, and AARP. Charles is survived by his son, Charles H. Morgan of Mountain Home, ID.; his daughter, Sharon Jones and her fiance Kenneth Gourley of Harrington, Del.; his brother, Walter Morgan of Fla.; his sister, Dorothy Rich of Rockville, Md.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service with full military honors will be held on Thursday, Feb 21, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, DE. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Delaware Veterans Cemetery in Millsboro, Del.
