DOVER - Ernest M. Chizmar died on Nov. 11, 2012 at Christiana Hospital. Born in Cleveland, Ohio. He was the son of the late Ernest S. and Betty Elizabeth (Olah) Chizmar. Ernest had proudly served in both the United States Air Force and in the United States Marine Corps, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He later worked as an IT Supervisor for the State of Delaware. Mr. Chizmar was an active member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Dover, where he led the Men's Group. He was also a member of The American Legion, Walter L. Fox Post in Dover. Ernest enjoyed running and biking as well as helping with charitable events, but most of all, he cherished the time spent with his loved ones. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. Mr. Chizmar is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; one son, Ernest Wells Chizmar, of Dover; one brother, John Chizmar, of Cleveland, Ohio; and three grandchildren. Friends may call on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012 from 10 a.m. until noon and again from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St, Dover. A Service will be held on Thursday at 9 a.m. at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 425 N. DuPont Hwy, Dover. Interment with honors will follow in The Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Ernest's memory be made to The Helen F. Graham Cancer Center.
