LEWES - MSGT Hampton "Josh" Carmine Jr. passed away June 21, 2012 at Delaware Hospice, Milford after a long battle with cancer. Born in Lewes, Del., son of the late Hampton J. Carmine Sr. and the late Norma L. Joseph. He worked as a manager at Walmart in the pet department and later worked alongside his wife as a security guard for Bennett Security at Milford Memorial Hospital. He then worked at Allen Family Foods as a quality control manager. He served 21 years in the U.S. Army and retired as a highly decorated Vietnam Veteran. He recieved 2 Purple Hearts and a Bronze star with 3 clusters, among many other awards. He loved trains and model railroading. He also loved music and dancing. He was an acomplished writer of poetry and has been published. He was generaly a quiet person but had an impish side to him. He would crack you up with his wit and humor. He is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Christel E (McKay) Carmine; two daughters, Morgan Neal and husband Sgt Frederick Neal U.S. Army, Colorado, Angela Carmine, Ga.; step daughter, Dawn Post, Maine; step son, Ron Jones, Ga,; four grandchildren; two brothers, Jeff Carmine and family and Herman Rust and family of Milford; three sisters, Ann Emro of N.J., Norleen Pearson of Pa., and Carla Rust of Miss.; and a host of nieces and nephews and extended family. In the future there will be a memorial service at the VA Cemetery in Sussex County.
