DOVER - Max E. Lewis of Dover passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Kent General Hospital. He was 82. Mr. Lewis was born July 31, 1931 in Paris, Texas to the late H.B. Lewis and Flora Bridges Lewis. He was very proud of being the only boy out of 5 girls. He entered the United States Air Force at the age of 19, and retired after 20 years as a Msgt. After his military career he went to work for Transportation Labor as a truck driver hauling products for General Foods retiring in 1989 after 19 years. He enjoyed truck driving, gardening, taking photos, and the wonders of outer space. Mr. Lewis especially loved being with his sisters and grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step son, Paul Harman. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Laura Crowder of Dover; son, Eddie Lewis and his wife JoAnn of Ga.; daughters, Dicie Eytcheson of Texas, Victoria Brodeur and her husband Jeff of Dover, Tracy Perez of Calif.; sisters, Dorothy Lewis of Texas, Bootsy Dodson of Texas; Jean of Texas, Louise Bloodworth of Texas, Dee of Texas; grandchildren, Laura Lynn, Nikki, Mercedes, Dusty, III, Thomas, Brittany, Scotty, Kelsey, April and Amber; great grandchildren, Rayne, Jeffrey and Kayden. Funeral services will be held, 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery ,26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966. Letters of condolences may be sent and guest book signed at
