BRIDGEVILLE - Robert Wayne Henry, born 11/17/52 in Bridgeville to William Selby Henry & Alice Letitia (Cannon) Henry, departed this life on Sunday, 1/19/14 at Kent General Hospital, Dover. Robert had an outgoing personality, a positive attitude, & loved others. He cherished his nephews & nieces. He loved all of his family dearly & was loved by them. Robert attended Williams Chapel Church, Bridgeville, DE, on Junior Choir & Usher Board for 5 years; Refuge Temple Revival Center, Seaford, DE , on Youth Choir & a Preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ; Asbury United Methodist Church, Harrington, DE. He loved the Lord, Gospel music & the Church. Education: Seaford School District, graduating from Seaford High School in 1970. He served in the US Army from 1971-1973, was Chaplain & Telephone Switchboard Operator, & U.S. Army Reserves-1977. He was a Vietnam Veteran. Military Honors included: National Defense Service Medal & Vietnam Service Medal. His spent his youth farming & landscaping with his father. He was employed by Gino's, Seaford, DE; American Original, Cannon, DE; Maryland Plastics, Federalsburg, MD; the Saw Mill, Greenwood, DE, & landscaping after his dad's passing. He valued hard work. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, William S. & Alice L. Henry; & 3 brothers, Eugene N. Cannon, Phillip E. Patton, & Anthony Patton. He leaves to cherish his memory, one brother, Billy G. Henry, Fayetteville, N.C.; two sisters, Clara M. H. (Eugene) Brittingham, Selbyville; & Alisa K. (Reginald) Parker, Bridgeville; two Sisters-in-Law, Lillian Cannon, Wilmington, and Eatha Mae Patton, Salisbury, Md.; one aunt, Ella Mae Henry, Pittsboro, N.C.; one uncle, Walter Smack, Bridgeville; a host of nephews & nieces; cousins; extended family; church family; & friends. Services will be held Sat., 1/25/14, 12 p.m. Williams Chapel Church, 491 N Cannon ST, Bridgeville, DE, viewing 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Internment: 1/27/14, 11 a.m. Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery Millsboro.
