SMYRNA - Steve J. Nagy, 77, of Smyrna, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2014 as the result of an accidental fall. Steve was born on May 29, 1937 in Bronx, N.Y. to Steve and Julia (Molnar) Nagy. He was a 1955 graduate of Cardinal Hays High School. On December 5, 1992 he married Rosemarie "Ronnie" (Rego D'Urso) in New York. Before moving to Smyrna, in 2006 he was a long time resident of Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y. Steve was a member of the National Guard 42nd Infantry Division for 8 years and served in the US Army for 3 years. He owned a soft serve ice cream business in the Bronx before working for General Motors in Tarrytown, New York. He worked at GM as an electrician from 1964 until his retirement in 1996. Steve was a lifelong Yankees fan, enjoyed playing pool, fishing, playing cards, and casino games. He also enjoyed listening to 50s music, doing crossword puzzles, watching TV and spending time with his grandchildren. Steve is survived by his wife, Ronnie, of nearly 22 years; stepchildren, Jeneen (Greg) Cohen and Robert D'Urso Jr., and grandchildren Matthew and Jessica Cohen. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Julie Masterson. Steve was a loving husband, stepfather, grandfather, and friend to all. Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, where services will be held at 4 p.m. Burial will be privately held.
