CRISFIELD - William Edward "Eddie" Sterling, Sr., died Wed., July 10, 2013 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. Born in Washington, D.C. on July 13, 1942, he was the son of the late King and Rachel White Sterling. He was a trucker for a construction company working 29 years before his retirement. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Crisfield Elks Lodge #1044, VFW Post #8274, Republican Party, Liberty Counsel, NRA, 2nd Amendment Foundation, and the ASPCA. He was a US Air Force veteran with the 551st Combat Support Group. He is survived by his son, William Edward Sterling, Jr. and wife Kim of Salisbury; a daughter, Denise Owens of Crisfield; a nephew, Greg Evans and wife Nicci of Crisfield; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Cullen and Jackie Evans. A graveside memorial service with military honors was held Monday, July 15, 2013 at the American Legion Cemetery on North Somerset Avenue in Crisfield. Pastor Todd Hurley officiated.
