CARRA - James A., a real-estate broker, developer and builder on Long Island and in Florida for many years, died on Wednesday, February 13 at Phoenixville Hospital in Pennsylvania. He was 82. He built many buildings in Copiague and elsewhere on Long Island. In the early 80's, he moved to Brooksville, Florida and continued his real estate endeavors, retiring in 2008. He served in the Army in the Korean War, attended Syracuse and Adelphi on football scholarships. Built the family house in Brightwaters, NY. and treasured spending time with family and friends playing cards, cooking and watching football. Loved being a race horse owner at Roosevelt Raceway. He married his high school sweetheart, Elsie Keiderling, and is the dear father of three daughters; Debbie (DeVito), Maria (Jennosa), and Christine (Giardini); his son James Jr, and son in laws Vic, Jimmy and Barney. He leaves 7 grandchildren (Jimmy, Steven, Mark, Tina, Mchael, Jake and Luke) and is survived by his beloved sister Nancy Iadanza, and joins his brothers in heaven; Frank and Michael, along with his parents Anthony and Anna and son in law Vic. A Memorial service is to be held on Sunday, February 24 from 1-3PM at Moloney Funeral Home (840 Wheeler Rd/ Route 111) in Hauppauge, NY. Burial will be on Monday 2/25 at 10AM.
