BANNON - Sharon (born Sharon Ann Lamb) of Farmingdale; age 56, passed into eternal rest on April 30 from complications of breast cancer. Born in Brooklyn on December 9, 1957 to parents Robert D. and Muriel Lamb, the oldest of five children, she moved with her family to and then grew up in Farmingdale, attending schools at St. James and Plainedge, graduating from Plainedge High School in 1976 and then graduating with her Associates degree from Nassau Community College in 1978. She married John Bannon on September 8, 1979, later moving to Centereach in 1981 where her three children (John Philip, the late Jodie, and Scott) were born. She later moved back to Farmingdale in 1989 where she eventually owned her own business. A 15 year survivor of breast cancer, her illness returned in January 2014 and she passed away peacefully on April 30 with her family by her bedside. Survived by John, her husband of 34 years; sons John Philip and Scott; her father Robet; sister Lisa Castello (Lawrence); brothers, Rob (Fran); Michael and Thomas (Doreen) and many nieces and nephews. Reposing at the Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons Bethpage Funeral Home, 20 Hicksville Road (1 mile north of Southern State Parkway, Exit 29). Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial, St. James R.C. Church, Seaford, Monday 9:15 AM. Interment St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, L.I. Visiting Saturday 7-9:30 PM and Sunday 2-4:30 & 7-9:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Memorial Sloan Kettering for breast cancer research.
