WEISS
Alan Ralph, 71, of Hawthorne passed away on March 5, 2013.
Born in Paterson he lived in Haledon before moving to Hawthorne 45 years ago.
A graduate of Central High School in Paterson, he received his Bachelor's degree from New York University. Alan served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and was an Insurance Agent for John Weiss & Company in Paterson and North Haledon. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Haledon/North Haledon where he served in several positions, including Club President, and was awarded the Paul Harris Fellowship for outstanding service.
He was also a member of the Passaic County Board of Realtors where he served as President in 1976, Boy Scouts of America Troop 30 serving as Scoutmaster for several years and a member of Volunteers of America.
Beloved son of the late Ralph and Charlotte (nee De Pope) Weiss. Devoted father of Christopher Weiss and his wife Aimee of Palo Alto, California. Loving grandfather of Aiden and Gabriela Weiss.
Funeral Services, Sunday, 5 PM at Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes.
Private Cremation.
The family will receive family and friends on Sunday from 2-5 PM at the Funeral Home.
