KINNELON — Services were held for Andrew R. Pearson, 90, of Clifton, who died on Tuesday, September 25, 2012. He was the father of Paul of this community.
Born in Passaic, Mr. Pearson lived in Clifton for more than 65 years. He worked for Public Service Electric & Gas Co. for 32 years, beginning as an auto service man and retiring as a senior transmission specialist in transmission and distribution in Newark. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Athenia Veterans Post, Clifton, where he served as chaplain for more than 30 years.
He was a parishioner of St. John Kanty R.C. Church, Clifton, where he served as chaplain of the Golden Circle, chaplain and secretary of the Holy Name Society, secretary of the Leisure Club, and lector for more than 50 years. And, he was a member and chaplain of the PSE&G Retirees Club North Jersey Chapter, serving as secretary of the Passaic Retirees Chapter as well.
Services were Saturday at the Shook Funeral Home, Clifton, followed by Mass at St. John Kanty R.C. Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. John Kanty R.C. Church, 49 Speer Ave., Clifton, NJ 07013.
Mr. Pearson also is survived by his daughter, Patricia Rogers of Landing; his brother, Leo Pearson of Oxford; his sister, Annette Vasko of Oxford; and a granddaughter.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Mary Jadach; his brother, William; and his sister, Ruth Charity.
