AVANZATO
Arthur J., of Hackensack, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 2, 2013, at the age of 93. Prior to retiring he worked as a salesman at Macy's in Paramus for many years. Arthur was also an Army Veteran of World War II. He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity R.C. Church in Hackensack, and a member of the Knights of Columbus Trinity Council #747, Hackensack. Arthur mostly enjoyed spending quality time with his loving family; they were everything to him.
Beloved husband of Emma Jean (nee Orsak) for 68 years; loving father of John Avanzato and his wife Liz of Franklin Lakes, and Irene FitzGerald and her husband Jeff of Upper Saddle River; cherished grandfather of Chris and his wife Donna Pecci, Tracey and her husband Mark Allen, Elizabeth, John, Jess, and Jake; adored great-grandfather of Meghan and Kevin; dearest brother of Concetta Monti of Florida; and a very dedicated health caregiver Nana. The Funeral on Tuesday, August 6, at 8:45 AM from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack. The Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 34 Maple Ave., Hackensack, at 10 AM. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, Paramus. The family will receive friends on Monday, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Arthur's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
