VAN WYK
Bruce, 67, of Rochelle Park, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his parent's home in Saddle Brook on Thursday, March 6, 2014. Before retiring Bruce worked as the Maintenance Engineer for Fratelli Beretta USA, Inc. in South Hackensack.
He was the Chief Mechanical Officer and lifetime member of the NY Susquehanna and Western Technical and Historical Society and formerly he was the Mechanic and Lead Foreman on the Morristown and Erie Railroad.
Bruce was a Navy veteran who served our country proudly during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Enterprise.
Beloved husband of the late Diane (nee Tankel). Cherished son of Howard and the late Barbara Van Wyk of Saddle Brook. Dear brother of Pamela Bekas and her husband Geoff of Saddle Brook and Lynne Wojcik and her late husband Joseph. Loving uncle of Johanna, Allison, Jonathan and Emily Bekas and Thomas Wojcik.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, March 9, 2014 from 7-9 PM and Monday, March 10, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Farview Avenue, Paramus. Funeral Service Tuesday March 11, 2014 at 10 AM at the First Reformed Church, 5 Ackerman Avenue, Saddle Brook. Interment George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions in Bruce's memory may be made to Book of Remembrance at First Reformed Church, 5 Ackerman Avenue, Saddle Brook, NJ 07663.
