PEQUANNOCK — Services were held for Donald John Cook, 79, of the Pompton Plains section of this community, who died on Monday, October 29, 2012.
Born in Paterson, Mr. Cook lived in Ringwood for 45 years before moving to Pompton Plains five years ago. He was a supervisor for Public Service Energy & Gas Co., Clifton, where he worked for 43 years. A U.S. Navy and Naval Reserve veteran serving during the Korean War, he was a member of Saddle Brook Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3484. And, he was a founding member, past president, and captain of the Ringwood Ambulance Corps.
Arrangements were by the Richards Funeral Home, Riverdale. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Ringwood Ambulance Corps.
Mr. Cook is survived by his sons, John of Atlanta, Ga., Raymond of Ringwood, and Steven of Oak Ridge; his daughters, Donna Waszkiewicz of Barnegat, and Catherine Schaaf of North Carolina; 18 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Catherine Arnold.
