PEQUANNOCK — Services were held for Edward J. Dericks, 93, of the Pompton Plains section of this community, who died on Thursday, August 2, 2012.
Born and raised in Paterson, Mr. Dericks lived in Fair Lawn for 62 years before moving to Pompton Plains several years ago. He was a sheet metal mechanic with Dericks Sheet Metal, Totowa, before retiring in 1991. Also, he was a parishioner of St. Catherine R.C. Church, Glen Rock, where he was a member of the Association of Mature Parishioners and the bowling league. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II as well.
Services were Monday at St. Catherine R.C. Church, followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Arrangements were by the Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, Fair Lawn.
Mr. Dericks is survived by his wife, the former Eleanor Mullen; his daughters, Ellen Metcalfe, Elizabeth Barberis, Jeanne Horvath, and Catherine McNally; his brother, George; his sisters, Florence Kessel, Doris Dolling, and Teresa Dericks; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his sons, Edward and Thomas.
