WEST MILFORD — Services will be held for Edward F. Gentile, 89, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Hamburg, who died on Monday, February 24, 2014.

Born in Paterson, Mr. Gentile grew up in Lincoln Park and lived in West Milford for more than 40 years before moving to Hamburg. He also wintered in Myrtle Beach since 1989. He was the longtime owner of Crest Plumbing and Fuel Oil of Butler. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a recipient of the Purple Heart. And, he was a member of the Rotary Club in Butler.

Arrangements were by the McMillan-Small Funeral Home, Myrtle Beach.

Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, D.C.

Mr. Gentile is survived by his wife, the former Joyce Leyland; his daughters, Gail Bosta and Gina Miller of Richmond, Va.; his sons, Gary of Oak Ridge, and Glen of Morrison, Colo.; his sister, Joan Klein; and nine grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his brother, Eugene.
