LINCOLN PARK — Services were held for Eugene J. Mottese Sr., 87, of this community, who died on Monday, March 17, 2014.

Born in Hackensack, Mr. Mottese moved to Lincoln Park in 1962. He was a mail carrier in Lincoln Park for 25 years before retiring in 1987. Also, he was a police officer with the Lincoln Park Police Department for eight years. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was a commander of American Legion Post 279, Lincoln Park, where he was captain of the bowling team as well.

Services were Saturday at St. Joseph's Church, Lincoln Park, followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Arrangements were by the Keri Memorial Funeral Home, Lincoln Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Joseph's Church, 216 Comly Road, Lincoln Park, NJ 07035.

Mr. Mottese is survived by his sons, Jerry, John, and Eugene; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, the former Mary Matano; and his daughter, Joleen Morere.
