Ferdinand A., age 84, of North Bergen, NJ on June 11, 2013.
Beloved husband for over fifty years to the late Gorda (2005). Devoted father of Robert (Janice Kitik), Diane Bond (Stephen), Richard Hepperle and Lisa Lyons (Robert). Dear brother of Ernest Hepperle (Marlene). Loving grandfather of Alison, Alan and Jamie Bond and Clark and Jack Lyons.
Ferdinand was born and raised in Guttenberg, NJ and was a life long resident of North Bergen. He was a Partner at R.M. Saffran & F. A. Hepperle Architects in New York, then self-employed at F. A. Hepperle Architect in Jersey City. He finished his career at Harsen & Johns Architect's in Paramus, NJ as an architect and planner. Throughout his career, he specialized in institutions and department store designs.
He lost his father at an early age and was talented enough to study at Cooper Union - Downtown New York. He received a certificate in Architecture and his further education was interrupted by serving during the Korean War. After returning and completing his education he pursued his career in Architecture.
Ferdinand was very active in community services, serving as a member of Christ St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in West New York and ran Boy Scout Troop #65 in West New York for over 20 years. He served as the treasurer of Laurel Lake, in Vernon, for over thirty years and his hobbies were bird watching, model railroads, photography and slot machines. Ferdinand will truly missed by all who new him.
Visiting Hours on Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 7-9 PM and Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM. at Konopka F Home, 9046 Palisade Avenue, North Bergen. A service will be held on Saturday, at 11 AM at the Funeral Home. A private cremation will follow.
