RUDDEN
Francis J. "Frank", Jr., 86, retired insurance industry executive, formerly of Nutley, died at home on February 27. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Georgette; three children, Eileen Rudden of Cambridge, MA, Dr Marie Rudden of West Stockbridge, MA, and Kevin Rudden of Mendon, MA; one sister, Joan Stuckart of Vernon, CT; eight grandchildren; one niece, and two sons-in-law. A U.S. Navy veteran, Mr. Rudden served in the Pacific Theater of Operations during World War II. He received both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Notre Dame and remained an ardent fan of the "Fighting Irish" football team for the rest of his life. Born in New York City, Mr Rudden raised his children in New Jersey, and lived in Nutley for more than 40 years. He retired as president of the New Jersey Insurance Underwriting Association in 1992 after spending his entire career there and with its predecessor, the Fire Insurance Rating Organization of New Jersey. For decades, he taught "Rating and Writing" to insurance agents throughout New Jersey. Mr. Rudden moved to Massachusetts in the late-1990s to be closer to his children and grandchildren.
