PEQUANNOCK — Services were held for Gene W. Russo, 82, of the Pompton Plains section of this community, who died on Tuesday, May 7, 2013.

Born in Clifton, Mr. Russo lived in North Haledon and Delaware before moving back to New Jersey in 2003. He was a process engineer for Honeywell, Teterboro, before retiring. Also, he was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, receiving a Purple Heart. He was a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans as well.

Services were Saturday at Cedar Crest Chapel, Pompton Plains. Arrangements were by the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains.

Mr. Russo is survived by his wife, the former Marlene Martel; his son, William; his daughters, Gail Zona and Michelle Cilibrasi; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Josephine.
