LIGOS
George, 82, of Fair Lawn, passed away on October 25, 2013. Born in Passaic, he lived there and in Clifton before moving to Fair Lawn in 1994. A Veteran of both the US Marines and US Navy during the Korean War, George served with the Fleet Marine Force B-1-F, was a HM3 Corpsman in the Navy attached to the 1st Marine Division, and is a member of both the Athenia Veteran Post, Clifton, and the American Association of Navy Hospital Corpsmen. A 1957 Graduate of Paterson State Teachers College, now William Paterson University, George was a School Teacher for the Cedar Grove Board of Education for 35 years, retiring in 1993. George was a parishioner of Assumption of the Holy Virgin Orthodox Church, Clifton, and was a member of the Carpatho-Rusyn Society. A 32nd Degree Mason, George was a member of Clifton Masonic Lodge #203 F&AM and the Essex Masonic Lodge F&AM #7, Caldwell. Beloved husband of Bertha (Kogan). Devoted father of Matthew and his wife Linda of Satellite Beach, FL, Kathleen Reinoehl and her husband Thomas of New Berlin, WI, and Michael and his wife Lisa of Basking Ridge. Loving grandfather of Christopher and Robert Reinoehl, and Alex and Will Ligos. Former husband of Mary Ann (Gogats). He is also survived by a large extended family in NJ, PA and OH, and many caring friends. Funeral Wednesday 9 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at Assumption of the Holy Virgin Orthodox Church, Clifton. Interment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Visiting Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM, with Parastas at 8 PM.
