Gloria Ruth, 88, of West Palm Beach, FL and Clifton, NJ, passed away on June 30 at the Hospice of Palm Beach County in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Gloria was born in Passaic, NJ, in 1925, grew up in The Bronx, NY and lived in Clifton for more than 40 years before retiring to Florida.
She graduated from New York University in 1946 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Gloria was an adoption social worker for the Department of Youth and Family Services of the State of New Jersey and later worked beside her husband Julius at Judd Kaye Associates, a company he founded.
She was very active in Jewish organizations, including at the Clifton Jewish Center and served as President of her local chapter of Women's American ORT for multiple terms. Gloria had a passion for opera, ballet, reading, and travel. Her favorite hobbies included needle pointing and knitting and she could often be found teaching her craft or creating something special for a loved one.
Gloria was predeceased by her dear parents, the late Sophie and Aaron Rachovsky, and the love of her life, her husband Julius. Gloria is survived by her loving family; son Richard Kaye and wife Diane, of Madison, Wis.; son David Kaye and wife Susan of Oak Park, California; and her daughter Lisa Miragliotta and husband Michael of Bridgewater, NJ. An especially devoted grandmother, Gloria is survived by six grandchildren; Jason Kaye of Michigan; Rachel and Ilana Kaye of California; Michael and Stephanie Miragliotta of New Jersey; and Jennifer Kaye of New York. Gloria has three great-grandchildren, Victoria, Olivia, and Dean of Michigan.
Services will be held at the Jewish Memorial Chapel, 841 Allwood Rd, Clifton, N.J. at 12 noon, Sunday July 7th. Interment will follow at Menorah Cemetery, Clifton, NJ.
