James Reamy Obituary
REAMY
James Sylvanus, passed away on September 17, 2013. Born December 1, 1928 in the Bronx and graduated from Evander Childs High School.
He attended New York University and received a degree from Brown University Graduate School of Savings Banking in 1975.
A longtime employee and Vice President of The Bronx Savings Bank which later became Eastern Savings Bank.
Jim then became Assistant Pari-Mutuel Director for New York Racing Association, from which he retired.
Prior to his finance career, Jim was a talented ballplayer. He pitched in the Philadelphia Phillies minor league system in the late 1940s.
Drafted into the U.S. Army in 1950, Jim was a Sergeant with the 64th Heavy Tank Battalion during the Korean War. He was combat wounded and awarded the Purple Heart before his discharge in October 1952.
He met Barbara M. Hausler at the Bronx Savings Bank and they married in April 1955. They raised four children in River Edge and River Vale, NJ, then moved and retired in Florida.
Predeceased by his brothers, Milton and Vincent Reamy.
James leaves behind his devoted wife, Barbara and children. Brenda Reamy, Nancy Reamy and her husband Chris D'Agosto, Cynthia and her husband Michael Orr and Eric Reamy and his wife Kristen.
Also ten loving grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday October 19, 1-5 PM at the Courtyard by Marriott, 245 Half Mile Rd., Red Bank, NJ 07701.
