WANAQUE — Services were held for Jerry Gitkin, 80, of this community, who died on Tuesday, September 11, 2012.
Mr. Gitkin lived in Fair Lawn and Paterson before moving to Wanaque. He was a substitute teacher at the Passaic County Technical School, Wayne, for more than 20 years. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of the Jewish War Veterans. He was a longtime member of the Fair Lawn Jewish Center as well.
Services were Friday at Robert Schoem's Menorah Chapel, Paramus. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the PCTI Education Foundation, c/o Passaic County Technical Institute, 45 Reinhardt Road, Wayne, NJ 07470.
Mr. Gitkin is survived by his wife, Pat; his daughter, Beth Senzer; his son, Stephen; his sister, Ruth Clarin; and four grandchildren.
