Mr. John, 81, of Statesville, NC and formerly of Clifton, New Jersey, died Wednesday January 23, 2013 at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.
Born in Olyphant, Pennsylvania on April 8, 1931, he was a son of the late Stephen and Anna Artemik. He was a computer operator for Atlantic Container Lines prior to retirement. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Artemik who died June 22, 2011 and a brother-in-law, Willard Wilhowsky.
Survivors include a sister, Anna Wilhowsky, two nieces, Carol Wilhowsky and Lora DiPietro (Jay) along with a great niece, Jenna DiPietro all of Statesville.
Services celebrating John's life will be private. Condolences may be sent on line to the family to Memorials may be given to the Humane Society of Iredell County P.O. Box 1617 Statesville, N.C. 28687. Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home 705 Davie Ave. Statesville, N.C. is entrusted with the arrangements.
