Obituary Condolences

WANAQUE — Services were held for John S. Bisaccio, 82, of this community, who died on Monday, August 26, 2013.

Born in Riverdale, Mr. Bisaccio lived there before moving to Wanaque. He held various positions in accounting, including supervisor of accounts payable. Previously, he was a gyro assembler at Singer-Kearfott. He was a veteran of the U.S. Naval Reserve and then the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Riverdale Borough Council, serving for four years.

A clarinet player, he performed with the American Legion Band, the Bloomingdale Cornet Band, where he was secretary-treasurer (business manager) for 25 years, and the Jacksonville Concert Band. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Pompton Plains, where he was a Eucharistic minister. And, he attended St. Francis of Assisi Church, Wanaque.

Services were Friday at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church, followed by interment at the First Reformed Church Cemetery, Pompton Plains. Arrangements were by the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Mr. Bisaccio is survived by his wife, the former Martha Shough; his daughter, Marie; his sons, Anthony and John; his sister, Marie De Fazio; and two grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, Saverio and Mary; and his brother, Sam.
