POMPTON LAKES — Services were held for John C. Lane, 80, of Monroe, who died on Friday, August 31, 2012. He was a former resident of this community.
Born in Long Island City, N.Y., Mr. Lane lived in Pompton Lakes before moving to Monroe 10 years ago. He was a community relations manager at United Water Company, Harrington Park, where he worked for 35 years before retiring. A U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Pompton Lakes. He was a member of the Paramus and Pompton Lakes Rotary and St. Mary's Church, Pompton Lakes, as well.
Arrangements were by the Richards Funeral Home, Riverdale. Donations may be sent to the Bobby Lane Scholarship Fund, c/o Mr. Kenneth Snell, 26 James Terrace, Pompton Lakes, NJ 07442.
Mr. Lane is survived by his wife, the former Joan Silbernagel; his son, John; his daughters, Karen Kirby and Kimberly Lane; his brothers, Richard and David; two granddaughters; and a grandson.
He was predeceased by his son, Robert; and his parents, John and Edith.
