WOODLAND PARK - Joseph F. Barra Jr., 87, of Toms River, formerly of Woodland Park and Paterson, died Aug. 4, 2013.

Joseph was born and raised in Woodland Park to the late Joseph F. Barra, Sr. and Pearl (nee De Pretto). He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during World War II from 1944-1946. Joseph was a bus driver after being released from the Army and later retired from NJ Transit in Orange.

Husband of the late Marie (nee Doyle). Father of Joseph D. Barra of Bayonne. Grandfather of Zachary J. Barra of Bayonne. Brother of Mable King of West Milford, Richard Barra of Decatur, Ill. and the late Marion Applegate of Lockwood, N.Y. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
