ENNIS
Joseph L., Sr. a longtime resident of Oradell died Tuesday, August 27, 2013. Beloved husband of 60 years to Vivienne N. (nee Viola). Devoted and proud father of Joseph L. Ennis, Jr. and his wife Karen and Cathleen N. Goepel and her husband Steve. Loving and proud grandfather of Kenzie, Ellie, Conor, and Katie Goepel and Erin and Meghan Ennis. Dear brother of Ed and his wife Betty and Bob and his wife Barbara, and sisters-in-law Mary and Ida. He was predeceased by his siblings Margaret, Rose Delores, Richard, William, Lawrence and Roger. He is also survived by many loving and caring nieces and nephews. Joe was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps (1948-1952) having served in the Korean War and in the historic battle of the Chosin Reservoir in North Korea. Joe was a member of the Oradell Police Department for 31 years, retiring as Captain under the leadership of his brother Chief William R. Ennis. Joe will be very much missed and remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and also long remembered with much devotion, respect, pride, and gratitude. Funeral service Friday 9 AM from the Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Rd., Oradell then to St. Joseph's R.C. Church for a 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment to follow at Maryrest Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit Thursday 3-8 PM.
