PEQUANNOCK — Services were held for Louis C. Behrens, 75, of this township, who died on Thursday, January 23, 2014.

Mr. Behrens was born in Paterson. He worked for Kearfott Inc. before becoming a Pequannock police officer, retiring in 1994 after 25 years of service to the department. Also, he was a mason of Acaica Lodge Salaam Shrine in Livingston and Azan Shrine in Melbourne, Fla.

Services were Tuesday at the Davis Seawinds Funeral Home, Melbourne. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Azan Shrine Transportation Fund, 1591 W. Eau Gallie Boulevard, Melbourne, FL 32935.

Mr. Behrens is survived by his wife, Marlena; his children, Susan Plaisance, Karen Raymond, Laura Sant, Michael Gallagher, Susan Gallagher, Cindy Atry, Scott Gallagher, Sheryl Rizzo, and Lisa Oriente; his sisters, Jean Bradley and Anna Thunnel; 18 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Doris Gallagher-Behrens; his son, Edward Gallagher; his parents, Louis and Anna; and his sister, Joan Kunis.
