Mary A. (nee DeBlasio), 88, died Thursday, November 28, 2013 at her home in North Arlington. Born and raised in Paterson she lived in North Arlington since 1952. She was employed as a secretary in the Guidance Department of Queen of Peace High School in North Arlington for 25 years before retiring. She was a past-president of the Queen of Peace Church Rosary Society and served on their Parish Council, a past-president of the ladies auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus Council # 3428 ,past -president and current secretary of the ladies auxiliary of the V.F.W. Post # 4697 and current secretary of the Happy Seniors Citizens of North Arlington. Mary was a past-president of the Sultanas of the El Sheedy Caravan # 192 and Queen of Peace High School Mothers Club . She volunteered at St. Rose's Home for cancer patients in New York City. She was a founder of the North Arlington Girl's Softball League in 1964 and a member of several other civic organizations. She was the devoted wife of the late William F. Eschner Sr., whom she called " the love of her life ", her memory is honored by her children, William F. Eschner Jr., Rosemary Giambalvo and her husband Charles, Beverly Abramson and her husband Gary and Barbara Eschner and her husband Richard Cantley, she was the proud grandmother of Will, Amy, Maddie, Emily, Jenna, Jack and Anthony, the dear sister of Catherine Scalora and Carl DeBlasio and his wife Ethel and the loving aunt, cousin and friend to many. Mary wished to thank Charles Belmonte and Ann Nowicki for their many years of companionship and happy times. She was predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Rose ( nee Provissiero ) DeBlasio and her daughter-in-law Marguerite Eschner. Funeral from the Parow Funeral Home 185 Ridge Rd., North Arlington on Monday, December 2nd at 10 a.m. thence to Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, North Arlington for the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Entombment Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington .
