Services for township resident Dr. Perlette A. Abuaf were held at Temple B'nai Jeshurun Sept. 26, 2010.

Mrs. Abuaf, 59, died Sept. 22 at Overlook Hospital in Summit.
Mrs. Abuaf was a post-doc at Columbia Presbyterian, and a research scientist at Johnson & Johnson and Purdue Pharma before joining Drew University as a professor of Chemistry. She was also briefly employed by Morgan Stanley as a financial analyst.
Mrs. Abuaf graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Doctorate in Chemistry. Before that, she attended Hebrew University, Technion-Israel Institute of Technology and Bosphorus University in Istanbul, Turkey.
She was a member of the Robert College Alumni Association, American Turkish Society, American Chemical Society, Millburn-Short Hills-Tziona Chapter of Hadassah, Essex County Bridge Club and Temple B'nai Jeshurun.
Mrs. Abuaf is survived by her beloved husband, Niso; her children, Ariella and David; and a daughter-in-law, Amanda.
