LUCIANNA
Roy M., 63, of Edgewater died September 9, 2013 after a long illness, bravely borne. Roy was a gifted teacher, painter, poet and accomplished practitioner of Chinese healing arts who brought an eclectic balance to his art and teaching. As an instructor in tai chi and qi-gong, he offered his skills to many students, including those with special needs. Roy held a B.A. from New York University, an M.A. from Hunter College and engaged in PHD studies in Medieval and Modern Art at Columbia University. Roy shared his generous affection with many, including his wife Karen Nickeson; brothers Mark, Brian, Gary, Neal: sister Linda; ten nieces and nephews and godchild Miles; six great-nieces and nephews; and uncle Frank Lucianna. Visitation Thursday 4-8 PM at the Barrett Funeral Home 148 Dean Drive Tenafly. Funeral Mass Friday 10 AM St. Cecilia R.C. Church Englewood. Interment Mt. Carmel Cemetery Tenafly.
