Ruth (Savage), of Pompton Plains died on November 18, 2012 at Cedar Crest Village. Born in Joliet, IL she has resided at Cedar Crest for seven years. Prior she lived in Washington Township since 1972.
She graduated from Northwestern University in 1948 and married Richard Wyler in 1949. After raising four children she returned to the work force in 1969 at G.D. Searle in Skokie, Illinois. Upon moving to Washington Township she began working for Hoffman-LaRoche in Clifton until her retirement in 1991. She was head medical writer, where she complied data from research for FDA approval.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Richard Wyler in 1974. She is survived by her loving second husband Erich Plaut whom she married in 1980. Survivors include her beloved children, Jeff Wyler of Mundelein, IL, Peter Wyler and wife Mary of Evanston, IL, Leslie Salembier and husband David of Montebello, NY and Kay Wyler and William Ryan of Stamford, CT. and Rick Plaut and wife Carol of Long Meadow, MA. There are thirteen adoring grandchildren and one great-grandson surviving.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday (12/1/2012) from 2:00-4:00 PM at The Music Room at Village Square at Cedar Crest Village in Pompton Plains, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory to The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 3170, Union, NJ 07083 would be appreciated.
