Saul, would have celebrated his 100th birthday on December 6th, of Fair Lawn, formerly of Paterson, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, November 10, 2013. Beloved husband of Krystyna Kagan Horn and the late Masha Horn. Devoted father of Edith Gerber and her husband Robert of Wayne, NJ. Cherished grandfather of Frederick Gerber. Dear brother-in-law of Helen Novak. Also survived by loving nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Dear cousin of Fred Buchman, Arturo Buchman and Phil Buchman and also survived by his extended family, Bertha and Isaac York. Prior to his retirement, Saul was a self employed home builder in North Jersey. Saul was a Holocaust Survivor. Saul lectured about the Holocaust at various schools including Memorial School in South Hackensack where his daughter, Edith Gerber, was a teacher for 39 years. He was proud to be educating these students so this horrific event in history will not be repeated. Saul was in the Warsaw Ghetto and was in the Buchenwald Concentration Camp, the Koezusko Concentration Camp and the Theresienstadt Concentration Camp. Saul was a member and past Cemetery Chairman of the Eastside Social Center and a former member of Congregation B'Nai Israel, both in Fair Lawn. A graveside service will be held 1 PM Wednesday, November 14, 2013 at King Solomon Cemetery, 550 Dwasline Road, Clifton, NJ Memorial donations in memory of Saul Horn may be made to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, 100 Raoul Wallenberg Place SW, Washington, DC 20024-2126.
