SPIRO N., 83, of Teaneck died on Sunday, March 23, 2014.
Beloved husband of 60 years to Tessie (nee Laousis). Devoted father of Nicholas and his fiancée Adrienne O'Donnell and James and his wife Heather. Dear brother of the late Peter (2001) and brother in-law of Margie Black, uncle of Nicholas, Anthony and family. Also survived by his sister in-law Angela Bogris and uncle of Jim and Claudia, Spiro and Kimberly, George and Kimberly and Vicky and George Androulakis and their families.
Spiro was a Korean War, U.S. Navy Veteran and served his country from 1951-1955. Before retiring Spiro was the founder and owner of Berco Appliance, Teaneck. He was an active member, since 1972, of St. Anthony's Orthodox Church, Bergenfield where he was a former Church Council President and served on the Fellowship and Stewardship Committees.
Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, March 25th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Road, Teaneck. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 26th at 10 AM at St. Anthony's Orthodox Church. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to be made in Spiro's name to St. Anthony's Orthodox Church, 385 Ivy Lane, Bergenfield, NJ 07621.
