Steve, 67, of New York City, passed away on July 5th 2013 in New York City after a three year battle with cancer.
Steve graduated University of Notre Dame Law School in 1971 on a full scholarship and attended a Masters Degree program in Taxation at NYU Law School in 1972.
Steve was a valued former US Treasury, IRS attorney, US Dept of Commerce Internation Business expert and University Adjunct Professor of Taxation. He also worked as a Platform Manager in Finance and as an Independent Government Tax Policy Specialist for projects of the US Treasury, USAID and World Bank. He assisted Foreign Government Officials in creating their Country's Personal Income Tax Law, Corporate Income Tax Law and Tax Administration Law. Some of the Countries were China, Slovak Republic, Jamaica, Bosnia, Macedonia, Armenia, Jordan, Iraq, Georgia, Moldova and Latvia.
Steve was always described as a "good man" with a big heart and brilliant mind. He left his mark and influenced change for millions of people in this world.
Steve leaves behind his beloved parents, Julia (nee Lazarcik) and Stephen Vasak of Elmwood Park, his devoted wife of 14 years, Brigitte King, his cat Milo, cousins Nicolas and Laurie Drobney, and niece Tanya.
Steve you will be greatly missed by so many people besides your family and close friends. We love you always and forever.
Funeral Thursday 9 AM from the Patrick J. Conte Funeral Home, Inc., 274 Market Street, Elmwood Park, Funeral Mass 10 AM at St. Leo's R.C. Church, Elmwood Park. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Saddle Brook. Visiting Wednesday 7-9 PM.
