CARLSTADT- Sylvester P. "Syl" Marron, 84, of Carlstadt for 45 years, passed away on Sept. 1. Mr. Marron was born in Jersey City.

Mr. Marron was an Army veteran serving during the Korean War. For over 20 years, he was a truck driver for Yellow Freight in Carlstadt and retired at the age of 65. Syl was a parishioner of St. Joseph's R.C. Church, a member of the Carlstadt V.F.W. Post 3149, the Teamsters Union Local 641 and coached Carlstadt/East Rutherford recreation football for many years.

Mr. Marron was the beloved husband of Mary Ann (nee Quinn) Marron; the loving father of Mark P. Marron and his wife Margaret, Thomas V. Marron and his wife Suzanne, Judy A. Skibitski and her husband Richard, Michael J. Marron and his wife Karen, Kevin Marron and his wife Kristin, and Brian K. Marron; the cherished grandfather of 15 grandchildren that loved and adored their Pop-Pop; the dear brother of Vincent Marron, Joan Marron, Joyce Cosenza and the late Charles Marron, Joseph "Sonny" Schafer and William Schafer; and the uncle of several nieces and nephews.

The funeral from the Kimak Funeral Home, 425 Broad St., Carlstadt, will be Thursday, Sept. 5, at 9:30 a.m. and from St. Joseph's R.C. Church, East Rutherford at 10 a.m. Interment in Berry Lawn Cemetery, Carlstadt. Visitation is Wednesday, 4-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tomorrow's Children's Fund, 30 Prospect Ave., Hackensack, NJ 07601; or St. Joseph's Church Restoration Fund, 120 Hoboken Rd., East Rutherford, NJ 07073.
