ROBINSON
Sylvia L. (nee Vanterpool), age 76 of Englewood entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 29, 2011. She was predeceased by her husband Joe Robinson. She is survived by her devoted sons Joey, Leland and Rhondo Robinson as well as her cherished grandchildren Antonio, Leland, Jr., Darnell, Rhondo, Jr., Leanetta, Darian, Darique, Idalia, Kasin, and Sasha. Her memory will also be cherished by her adored great-grandchildren Amirah and Myla as well as her sisters Audrey Jones and Diane Harris and brother Dashielle Vanterpool. Among the many lifelong friends and fans that will keep Sylvia in their hearts are Kent "Poochie" Laird, Greg Walker, and her dedicated caregiver, Synthia Williamson. Mrs. Robinson is regarded as one of the founders of Hip-Hop, producing many hit songs through her record label Sugar Hill Records. Prior to focusing her efforts on her music label, Mrs. Robinson was a singer and song writer releasing hits such as "Pillow Talk" and "Love is Strange." Funeral services will begin at 7 PM on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at the Community Baptist Church, 224 First Street in Englewood. Interment to be held Wednesday, departing the church at 10:30 AM to George Washington Memorial Park. www.volkleber.com
