Thomas C. Kent, 82, died on July 31.

He was born in New York, N.Y. and had been a longtime resident of Ho-Ho-Kus. He attended Fordham University, Fordham Law School and New York University School of Law. He was a parishioner of St. Luke's R.C. Church in Ho-Ho-Kus and a member of the New York Bar Association. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean War. He was a senior tax attorney with Thalen, Reid and Priest, New York, N.Y. before his retirement in 1995.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte M. (Rice) Kent of Wyckoff; his children, Ginny Dorris of Brooklyn, N.Y., Justine Kent of Skillman and Lawrence Kent of Seattle, Wash.; and his grandchildren, Greg, Eric, Peter, Nolan, Chase, George, Moses and Frances.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug, 4 at Vander Platt Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave. in Wyckoff. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 5 at St. Luke's RC Church, 340 Franklin Turnpike in Ho-Ho-Kus, with interment to follow in St. Luke's Cemetery.
