ORADELL — Thomas L. Barbagallo, 88, formerly of Cliffside Park, died on Dec. 23.
The son of the late Anthony and Jennie (Mirabello) Barbagallo, he graduated Cum Laude from New York University's Leonard N. Stern School of Business. He became a certified public accountant while working for Haskins and Sells public accountants. After several years, he was offered a position at General Motors, a client of the firm he worked for. He became a divisional auditor at General Motors. Subsequently, he held several management positions in the company's banking, cash management and treasury office. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Junipero Serra Club and the Holy Name Society. He was a parishioner of St Joseph's Parish for over 55 years.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Anna (McPartland); his children, Tom and wife Kim, Anne Barbagallo and Mary Kern and husband James; his brothers, Charles Barbagallo and Salvatore Barbagallo and wife Lorraine; and his grandchildren, Allison, Michael and Thomas Barbagallo, and Elizabeth and Meagan Kern. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Brother John McPartland, CFC.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 27 at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell. Funeral service from the funeral home at 9 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 28, and then to St. Joseph's RCC in Oradell for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment to follow at Mary Rest Cemetery in Mahwah.
