DECKER
Walter T. Jr., died Friday, March 22, 2013, at St. Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was 84.
He was born and raised in Paterson and moved to East Brunswick in 1960. Prior to retiring in 1981, he was a Captain for the NJ State Police in Trenton, where he worked for 27 years. An Army veteran, he served during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953. He served in Big Red 1, 1st Division, 16th Infantry Regime. He was also a member of Joyce Kilmer Post #25, American Legion, Milltown and the Fraternal Trooper Organization. Mr. Decker was a communicant of St. Bartholomew RC Church, East Brunswick, for over 50 years.
He was predeceased by his wife, Ann Wisse Decker in 1998, and his son, William Decker. Surviving are his two sons, Walter T. Decker III and his wife Kathy of Freehold, and Stephen J. Decker and his wife Wendy of Jackson, and four grandchildren, William J., an Iraq veteran, Nicole, Alyjah and Zane Decker.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, 8:45 AM, at The Brunswick Memorial Home, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, followed by a 9:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bartholomew RC Church, East Brunswick.
