KIRK
William Alan, 70, of Bogota died June 6, 2013 at New York Presbyterian Hospital.
Born August 12, 1942, in Cumberland MD. Beloved father of Francis Alan Kirk and wife Dr. Lisa D. Stevens, and Alayne Kathryn Geller and husband Scott S. Geller.
Adored "Papa" of Kayla Rachel and Alison Lindsay Kirk, and Kirk Alan Geller. Cherished friend and former spouse of Francine Zumpano.
Alan earned a BA in Theater from the University of Florida, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon, and MFA from Yale University. Mr. Kirk taught at the University of Michigan and Ohio State University. He designed original panoramic settings for the long-running historic outdoor drama "Tecumseh!" in Chilicothe OH, and created lighting designs for two world premiere plays.
As Executive Director, Mr. Kirk led the restoration and operation of two historic theaters: the Palace Theatre in Marion OH, and John Harms Theater (now Bergen Performing Arts Center) in Englewood NJ.
Celebration of Mr. Kirk's life will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bogota Public Library.
