BLOOMINGDALE — Services were held for William R. Walther, 95, of Totowa, who died on Saturday, October 20, 2012. He was the father of Deborah Outwater of this community.
Born in Northumberland, Pa., Mr. Walther grew up in the Totowa section of Paterson before moving to Totowa in 1946. He was the former owner of Walther Brothers Florist, Totowa. Later, he was manager of Arcadia Gardens of Wayne. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, he was a member of the American Legion as well.
Services were Thursday at the Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, Little Falls, followed by interment at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Save the Animals Rescue Team (START), P.O. Box 98, Little Falls, NJ 07424.
Mr. Walther also is survived by his other daughters, Carol Walther of Totowa, and Virginia Guzzo of Greenwood Lake, N.Y.; his sons, Robert of Elk Grove, Calif., and Randall of Hampton; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Virginia Acker; and five siblings.
