Albert P. Hoffman December 25, 1928 - April 14, 2012 Baltic - Albert P. Hoffman, 83, of Baltic died unexpectedly Saturday at his home. He was born in Sprague on December 25, 1928 the son of the late Carl and Gertrude (Abrahamson) Hoffman. Al was employed for 35 years as a Hand Finisher at the former United Nuclear Corp. in Montville retiring in 1991. He served in the United States Marine Corp. during W.W.II and was honorably discharged with rank of Corporal. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Baltic. Al was an avid golfer and outdoorsman and loved woodworking and animals. He also played many musical instruments. On June 24, 1950 he married Rita (Tremblay) Hoffman at Sacred Heart Church in Taftville who survives him. Besides his wife he is survived by one son, Roy Hoffman and his wife Colette of Baltic. One granddaughter Christine Harris of NC and three great grandchildren. One brother Walter Hoffman of Norwich and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one grandson Willaim Cain and one sister Pearl Douville. A calling hour will be held Wednesday from 9:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. at the Guillot Funeral Home, 75 South B. St., Taftville followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church in Baltic at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery Baltic with military honors. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Mary's Church, 70 West Main St., Baltic, CT 06330.
