Edna (Clang) Moon Holliman Aug. 3, 1920 - Sept. 1, 2014 NORWICH - Edna (Clang) Moon Holliman of 14 Pacemaker Ave., formerly of Wequonnoc Village Taftville passed away Monday evening at Orchard Grove Specialty Care. She was born in Norwich August 3, 1920 the daughter of Adolph and Melvina (Reil) Clang. A lifelong Taftville resident, Edna had been employed at the former Ponemah Mills of Taftville and Baltic Textile Mill as a weaver. She then moved to Pawtucket, RI for a short time and worked at Wakeford Mills. Edna last worked at Capehart Corp. in Norwich as a machine operator, retiring in 1984. She was formerly married to the late Raymond Holliman and the late James W. Moon, Sr. Edna was a lifelong communicant of Sacred Heart Church Taftville, a member of the Taftville VFW Post #2212 Ladies Auxiliary, was a Volunteer Fire Safety Person at Wequonnoc Village in Taftville, and also volunteered with her daughter for Elizabeth Hurley's Kid's Christmas at NFA. She loved dancing, playing bingo, having picnics and watching Red Sox/Yankee baseball games and Walker, Texas Ranger on television. Edna also enjoyed watching her great granddaughter Lindsay perform with the Luis Pabon Dancers. She devoted most of her life to taking care of her family and enjoyed being with them. Edna's family loved her dearly and will sadly miss her. She is survived by her daughter Joyce Rushford of Norwich, two sons James W. Moon, Jr. and his wife Pat of Plainfield and John D. Moon of Norwich, and daughter-in-law Robyn Moon of Lisbon, nine grandchildren, Michael Cyr, Lisa LeFrancois, Michael, Shawn, Kimberly, Christine and Cynthia Moon, Kelly Beams and Amber Ritchie, 17 great grandchildren, Nicholas and Lindsay LeFrancois, Brandon, Alexa and Emily Beams, Preston Paukstis, Sylis Katz, Javont'e, Maliyah, Jacoby, Kaitlyn, Summer Rain, Joshua and Nevada Moon, Emily, Eric and Samantha Ritchie, one great-great grandson Mason Gagne-LeFrancois, one sister-in-law Jeannette Clang, and numerous nieces and nephews. Edna was predeceased by her son Robert C. Moon and her grandson Scott R. Moon. She is the last of her siblings, predeceased by brothers Arthur, Alfred and Ernest and sisters Irene, Mary Ellen, Alice, Rita, Gladys, Beatrice, Yvonne, Florence and Dorina. The family would like to thank everyone who helped with Edna's care, especially Orchard Grove Specialty Care Staff Lower Level for their compassion and care these past months, and Masonicare/Hospice for making our Mother comfortable during the end of her life. All are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church Taftville Monday September 8th at 11:00 A.M. meeting directly at Church. Burial to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
