Gisele Marie Therese (Waite) Grandchamp Oct. 1, 1931 - Apr. 30, 2014 STANSTEAD, QC, CANADA - Gisele Marie Therese (Waite) Grandchamp was called to heaven by the angles at the age of 82 on April 30, 2014 in Stanstead, Quebec. She is survived by her son Jeffrey Grandchamp and wife Karen (Lebuis); daughter Francine (Waite) Bachman; Granddaughter Stacey (Bachman), husband Michael Lawton, and children Ashley and Jacob; grandson Brian Bachman and wife Aimee and daughter Sydney; brothers and sister in-laws Norman and Pauline Waite, Robert and Lorraine Waite, Gilles and Jacquline Waite, Richard Waite, Marcel and Dianne Waite, Laurent and (Liette)Waite, and Mario Waite; sisters and brother in-laws Jacqueline Giroux, Yolande and Donald Benoit, Jeanine and Patrice Carrier, Claudette O'Malley and (Orville Anderson), Noel Viens; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Harold James Grandchamp; father Armand Waite; mother Cecile (Joly) Waite; son in-law Stephen Bachman; sister Lise Viens; brother in-laws Jack Giroux, Guy O'Malley, and Louis, Fred, and Philip Grandchamp; sister in-laws Margot Waite, Rita (Grandchamp) Schlough and Irene (Grandchamp) Bentley. She was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec October 1, 1931, the eldest of fourteen siblings. She grew-up in the one room school house town of Capleton, Quebec and later attended school at the convent in Stanstead, Quebec. She married Harold on November 22, 1952 at Saint Joseph church in Sherbooke, Quebec. They resided in Montville and Norwich, Connecticut for the first fifty years of their marriage. She had dreamed of becoming a journalist but after a variety of jobs, she settled into being a mother and homemaker. She was an avid reader and fan of classic movies and television shows. She had strong spiritual beliefs for God and prayer. In 2002 the couple moved to Stanstead, Quebec where many special friendships were formed which she treasured and gave her much happiness. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
