Richard H. Levola Obituary
Richard H. Levola March 2, 1940 - January 3, 2014 Danielson - Richard H. Levola, 73, of Danielson died Friday at Pendleton Nursing and Rehab Center in Mystic. He was born in Killingly on March 2, 1940, son of Rita (Carrier) Levola of Danielson and the late Carlo Levola. Mr. Levola's past employment included the Pepsi Corporation, police officer with the Danielson Police Department and Supervisor/ Director of Transportation for the Town of Killingly for over 40 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Danielson Fire Department where he served as Chief for 33 years. He was a former Boy Scout, member of Killingly-Brooklyn (KB) Ambulance where he served on the Board of Directors, member of the Knights of Columbus where he was past Grand Knight for two terms as well as being a 4th Degree Knight, a constable for the Town of Killingly, a former Killingly Town Council member, a State of Connecticut Justice of the Peace and member of the Connecticut and New England Fire Chiefs Associations. Mr. Levola loved flea marketing, hosting small picnics at the house, participating in car shows, his community, friends, family, bird, Peeku and cat, Nelly. Besides his mother he is survived by his children, Christine Farrell and husband Matthew of Putnam, LTC(P) Peter Levola and wife Christy of Fayetteville, NC and Nancy Levola of Danielson; brother, Timothy Levola of Boston, MA; grandchildren, Amber Marie Farrell, Tiffany and Anthony Bergonzoni, Krysta and Adam Thomas, Chad Levola, Alisha Levola, Joshua Santiago and Samantha Simard; great grandchildren, Natasha Levola Gordon, Anyah Levola and Addison Bergonzoni and several nieces and nephews. Funeral from Tillinghast Funeral Home, 433 Main Street, Danielson on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. James Church, Danielson. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. Burial will be in South Cemetery, Brooklyn in the spring.
