William H. Rogoff Sr. Obituary
William H. Rogoff Sr. Sept. 28, 1930 - Mar. 31, 2014 WATERFORD - William H. Rogoff Sr., formally of Lamphere Rd., Waterford, passed away March 31, 2014 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was born in New London September 28, 1930 the son Max Rogoff and Amy (Havens). He was predeceased by his high school sweetheart and wife of 58 years, Olive [Friars]; brothers David and Charles. "Bill" proudly joined the National Guard, and was federalized into the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He completed a 10,000 hour apprenticeship graduating number one in his class in electrical design. He became an electrical draftsman at Electric Boat Company, and retired in 1992 after 43 years of service Bill and Olive raised a loving family on Lamphere Road. As a young father, he was active in scouting, serving as Cub Scout Master for PACK 29. He enjoyed a lifelong love of music, and was a regular member of the First Baptist Church of New London Choir. Bill belonged to the New London Elks and The "OBs". In retirement, Bill and Olive became true campers, spending winters in their RV in Fort Pierce, Florida. He leaves behind sons William Jr. [Lynne] of South Windsor; David of Westland, Michigan; Gary [Linda] of Oakdale; Michael of Westerly, RI; Four grandchildren Chelsea, Erik, Ashley and Morgan. Funeral services will be held at noon Friday April 4 at the Byles Memorial Home, 99 Huntington St, New London, preceded by visiting hour 11A.M.-12 P.M. Burial with Military Honors follow at Jordan Cemetery in Waterford.
